First of Many...

Alright everybody. For those who aren't in "the know" so to speak, this is my personal blog. This is where I'll write about my everyday life and goings on there in. Anyone is free to comment at any time and I actually encourage people to do it often to give me a little feedback. For those that do know me they know I have a poker blog. I am just giving everyone the heads up that even though I may mention poker in this blog, there will be no in depth discussion about it on this blog. If you want to discuss poker go to my poker blog. It's www.A-JOFFSUIT.blogspot.com. Anyways, with that out of the way, for those who don't know me personally, you can either check out my profile or read on. My name is Chris, but most of the people who REALLY know me call me X. I'm not really sure why, it's just one of those things that just ended up sticking after a while. I've got an awesome job at a hospital and I pretty much spend most of my time there. I also have a second job which I don't like quite as much but it pays well and there isn't a lot of hassle with it. I live with two roomates who both work at the same hospital I work at, Bill and Mike. If you see me mention those names, that's who I'm referring to unless I otherwise specify. Alright, enough with the basics, let's get down to business.

As I mentioned, I have an awesome job at the hospital. I just recently started a new position that totally kicks butt. Everybody has been great for the most part, while I learn the system up there. I'll tell you, it's like two different worlds coming from where I came from to where I am now. The guys who have been training me are awesome and have been great in showing the ropes. The first day was good, I just sat back and took as much of it in as I possibly could. There really wasn't much I could do at that point except take advice from everybody and see how everything was done. The second day I started getting into the basic gist of things. It was different from the first day because it was a little more hands-on and I also tried to familiarize myself with the stuff up there. The third day (today) was a lot more hands on and I did my first room by myself. Again I have to say how cool the people there really are. I mean sure, there are a few high strung ones, by it's a high stress type of job. There's no way around it and different people respond differently in certain situations. I really enjoy the atmosphere there and the environment I work in. I mentioned to a few people that my current job was the one I had wanted ever since I started. I just had no idea on how to go about getting in there, but I'm in now and I plan on staying for a long time.

Moving on, as we all know and dread, Christmas is right around the corner. For me, everything about Christmas is alright excpet for the shopping. It is a complete and utter nightmare. And since the best place to go Christmas shopping is the mall, it is ten times worse. It's sad, as a child I loved Christmas. Now, I only ask one question as it approaches, "How much is it gonna cost me?". I hate saying that, but every year I say it again and again. The size of my family has a lot to do with it. Going back a few years ago, my family was small and rather easy to shop for. Ever since my father got remarried, the budget has gone up. I'm not complaining mind you, I love having a bigger family. It's just after a while, the number and price of presents just keeps getting higher with the more people you know. I estimated that last year's shopping altogether came out to about $1200 or so. This year, since I know a few more people, it'll probably be around $1500. And that's about $900 I don't have, so I've been putting off shopping until the last minute. Its like a vicious cycle, I put of shopping 'til the last minute and yet I wait 'til the last minute to shop every year. That is my just desserts for being a procrastinator.

That's basically it for now. I post when there is something worthwhile to mention. Have a good week everybody.

X
